A day in Fishtown.........
We spent the day in Leland, otherwise known as Fishtown. We did some shopping, had lunch and then headed to the sanddunes. Christian took the picture of the umbrella because he said it looked just like Nana's.
Nana's umbrella
Sleeping bear dunes, Christian knew the whole story of the dunes & the Manitou Islands. He told us all about it. His school went there a couple weeks ago.He said that a mother bear and her two cubs lived in Wisconson and a forest fire forced them to swim across Lake Michigan. The two cubs never made it and thier spirits made the 2 island that are now called the Manitou Islands and the mother bear waited and waited for her cubs and her spirit turned in to the sleeping bear dune.
Well I read the handout you get when you go there and he was exactly right.
