Fall is here

Fall is here now but it sure didn't feel like it this day. It was nearly 90 degrees out. We were joking that it must feel like this in the Grand Cayman for fall.
Rex and the horse just kept touching noses, it was pretty cute.
Going on the hayride.
On the search for the perfect pumpkin. We had to go back really far to find good ones. They are a lot smaller this year with the lack of rain over the summer but we managed to find 4 great ones.

Christian was pretty proud of them.

Great Wolf Lodge

Christian was so glad to be here. He had such a great time
Here he comes down the waterslide.
Christian was getting pretty serious about this game.
Waiting to be seated for Dinner.
Yes, the burger basket comes in a mini shopping basket. Christian thought this was just crazy.
Here comes the wolf with milk and cookies.
MMM, they were so good. Nice and warm with ice cold milk.

A day in Fishtown.........

We spent the day in Leland, otherwise known as Fishtown. We did some shopping, had lunch and then headed to the sanddunes. Christian took the picture of the umbrella because he said it looked just like Nana's.

Nana's umbrella

Sleeping bear dunes, Christian knew the whole story of the dunes & the Manitou Islands. He told us all about it. His school went there a couple weeks ago.
He said that a mother bear and her two cubs lived in Wisconson and a forest fire forced them to swim across Lake Michigan. The two cubs never made it and thier spirits made the 2 island that are now called the Manitou Islands and the mother bear waited and waited for her cubs and her spirit turned in to the sleeping bear dune.
Well I read the handout you get when you go there and he was exactly right.
The ship anchor

Christian trying to pick up the chain to the ship anchor.........
The cheese store, we had to go there of course!

ALMOST AUGUST

Hi Dear Family,
Can't believe summer is 1/2 over now. Of course, if we lived down in the Carribbean, it wouldn't be. We have been enjoying it though... Trying to put a years worth of activities into 3 months.
Weather here has been beautiful this week.... High 70's and low 80's. Nice break from that hot, humid weather.
Robin and I are looking forward to coming down to the Cayman Islands Oct 31-Nov 4. Will be a great time. Am also looking forward to the trip up north here shortly August 9-12. Will be fun trying out a new place. Glad Ryan, Teresa and Christian can make it. Will miss Frank and Christen, but once they get back here in Michigan, we will do a trip all together.
Heading up north August 25th for Christian's pirate birthday party..... Will be alot of fun... Can't believe Christian is going to be a big 6 years old...... The fishing should be fun there in the bay. Got a charter set up for Saturday night up there. Then Sunday morning, we will be heading to that great restaurant that has the big buffet.
Our weekends are booked up until September 8th so far. Whew!!!
The pictures on Frank and Christen's blogspot are so neat. Christian will love the turtle and stingray pictures. Can't wait until they can all visit there....
Work is starting to pick up a little here. Gas went down to a whole 2.95 a gallon.... Still crazy. I think the government thinks we all have money trees so that we can supply them with money to waste..... Don't get me going on that. ha!ha! This post would be really long....
Glad to hear things are going well for you all. What exciting lives you all are living...... I am so happy for all of you and so very proud......
Teresa said that the camping trip was fun. I miss camping... It is so relaxing and such great family time. The birthday girl!!!
We went out with Mark and Julie for his birthday. It is on same day as Teresa's. Last thing I heard when they pulled out of the driveway to go home. (Julie): Mark, don't sit on the birthday cake. (Mark) Help!!! He was afraid of Julie's driving...
Well, not much more going on here....Take care and I love you all so very much.....
Love,
Mom

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY

Sorry it has taken so long to post something here. Seems like this past month has been so busy.
Had a great time in Niagara Falls. Christian's favorite thing to do was to swim in the dinosaur pool and go to the arcade where he won lots of goodies. Everytime we went there, someone gave him free tickets... Too cute....Weather there was perfect. Got a picture of Christian standing by the falls with a rainbow in the background. Hopefully Teresa can download some pictures on here of Niagara since I can't.... Darn!!! He is quite the swimmer now. Swam underwater for 1/2 of the pool.
Getting ready for the 4th of July party. Wish you all were here, but you will be in my heart. Hope you all have a great 4th of July.
The weather has been beautiful this week. 80 during the day and in the high 60's at night. There for a while it was so hot, it was unbearable.
Hope Frank and Christen have fun with her Mom. Rick and the girls there. Know you all will.
Can't wait until Teresa, Ryan and Christian can visit and me too.....
Once again have a great 4th of July and remember that I love you all so very much..... Am proud of you all.
